PPG “Best Use of Color” Awards Presented at NSRA Nationals Plus Event

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – August 28, 2014 Three colorful cars took PPG’s popular “Best Use of Color” awards at the 45th annual National Street Rod Association (NSRA) Nationals Plus held July 31–August 3 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. More than 10,000 street rods, classics, custom cars and trucks were on display, and an estimated 70,000 spectators attended the four-day event. While the sheer number of vehicles made the judges’ work challenging, the three PPG winners stood out. They were a 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber owned by Tom Mattingly, Mt. Washington, Kentucky; a 1950 Chevy Sedan owned by Ron Goin, Powell, Tennessee; and a 1965 Ford Falcon owned by Edd Fisher, Louisville, Kentucky. [Read more…]

Supercharged Model A wins Goodguys 2014 Tank’s Hot Rod of the Year Award

Indianapolis, IN – Tony Lombardi’s supercharged 1930 Model A Ford from Niles, Ohio won the Goodguys 2014 Tank’s Hot Rod of the Year award last weekend at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The criteria is unique in that it’s the only major Goodguys Top 12 award which requires participants to drive on a 100-mile reliability run as well as an 1/8th mile blast down the drag strip.
