Southern Slam Session 5 changed locations to the Oak Grove Veteran Memorial Park in Oak Grove, Kentucky, for the 2008 show season. This show is presented by the Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Chapter of the Vaperz Custom Auto Club, which in the past has produced a rather good show. Unfortunately, due to a declining economy and venue change, the show had a sharp decline in attendance during 2008. However, the show must go on and it did!

In addition to the car show and unofficial beer pong contests, there were several events at the show, but our favorite was the wet t-shirt contest and of course the bikini contest.

The weather was very cooperative this year and everyone that attended had a very good time socializing with friends and other custom auto enthusiasts. As much as ESM would like to see this event return stronger than ever in 2009, at the current time its return is currently questionable.
